To ensure mold durability, QGM molds feature the following wear protection:

Cementation (62-68 HRC)
1) Hardening of the mold body and heel shoe; 2) Calcination depth of at least 1.2 mm.

Nitriding (58-62 HRC)
1) Nitriding of the mold frame and tamping shoes (58-62 HRC); 2) The hardening depth can be no more than 0.4 mm; 3) Compared to cementation, there is practically no internal stress; 4) A small thickness of the jumper is recommended; 5) Higher contour accuracy compared to hardened dies.
